Abstract

When a desired position of an image on a display (2) is indicated by a position-detecting terminal (3) and a switch for starting positional detection is operated, a position pattern image (5) is inserted in the display (2). The position pattern image (5) is an image where position marks (6) having unique positional information is arranged. The position pattern image (5) images a predetermined imaging area (E) centering on a position (T) pointed by the position-detecting terminal (3), acquires positional information of position marks (6) within the imaging area (E), and obtains the position (T) pointed by the position-detecting terminal (3). Accordingly, a position pointed on an image can be detected independent of a kind of the display (2).
