Description
(54) CAST IRON
I. The invention relates to the field of metallurgy, namely to the choice of the composition of cast iron, for the manufacture of basic parts of machine tools. Known cast iron of the following chemical composition, wt.%: Carbon 2.9-3.3 Silicon1.6-1.9 Manganese 0.6 - / 0.9 Iron Others 1 The specified cast irons have large graphite, insufficient mechanical properties. The closest to the described invention by its technical essence and the achieved result is cast iron of the following chemical composition: Carbon 2.5 - 3.5 Silicon 0.01 - 0.07 Manganese. 0.01 - 0.7 Aluminum 1 - 3 Tin 0.03 - 0.08 Else The specified cast iron has high mechanical but low casting properties. The aim of the invention is to increase the casting properties. This goal is achieved by the fact that cast iron containing carbon, silicon, manganese, tin and iron additionally contains titanium in the following ratio of components, wt.b: Carbon 2.9 - 3.3 Silicon1.6-1.9 Manganese 0.6 - 0 , 9 Tin0.08 - 0.12 Titanium0.12 - 0.15 IronOstal Titanium contributes to significant grinding. graphite inclusions and improved casting properties. The table shows the data on the chemical composition and foundry properties of the known and proposed cast irons.
