Description

Microcoolers are known for obtaining low temperatures along the reverse Stirling cycle, which contain a cylinder placed in a common housing with compressor pistons and an expander coaxially arranged in it, a refrigerator, a regenerator and a crank drive mechanism.

To reduce the size of the microcooler, ensure its dynamic balance and reduce friction losses between the cylinder and pistons by rotating the latter in the described microcooler, the movement mechanism is implemented as two annular solenoid coils installed in the casing and rigidly connected to the pistons, and damping gas cavities to reverse the pistons.

In addition, electric motors with a common stator and rotors mounted on piston rods are installed in the microcooler case.

The drawing shows the described microcooler, longitudinal section.

It contains 3 compressors and an expander 4, a cooler 5, a regenerator 6 and a drive mechanism made in the case of two annular solenoid coils 7 with the core 8, which are rigidly connected to pistons, and gas damping cavities 9 and 10 for reversing the pistons.

In the case of a microcooler, electric motors are installed with a common stator 11 n rotor 12 mounted on the rods 13 of the pistons.

Helium is used as a working fluid in a microcooler. The movement of the compressor and expander pistons is subject to a sinusoidal law with a phase shift of an angle determined by the machine. When the compressor drive is turned on, the bore 8 associated with the piston 5 is drawn into the gap of the corresponding solenoid coil and the gas is compressed to working pressure. At the same time, gas is compressed in the damping cavity 9, which passes through the cooler 5 and the regenerator 6 into the expander cavity 14, where it is adiabatically expanded. The gas is compressed in the damping cavity 10 and returns the pistons to their original position. The speed of movement of the pistons is determined by the characteristic of the solenoid coils and mainly by the geometry of the air gap between the core and the coil.

11 and the rotor 12 mounted on the piston rods 13. Vrash piston with small gaps in the cylinders contributes to the gas wedge, and the piston-cylinder pairs work as gas bearings of the aerodynamic type. The movement of gas in the gap perpendicular to the axis of the plane, prevents its leakage during compression, which allows refusing installation of seals.
