Abstract

FIELD: medicine; measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: device known already, which is used for measuring spatial parameters of foot by contact-free method is rather sophisticated and has a limited precision due to the fact that foot is clasped completely. Complicated calculations are required for the method, as well as large number of photodetectors. According to the method proposed, parameters of the foot are measured at two areas: foot itself and wider part of the shin at side surfaces of the foot. Foot is illuminated with a beam system, which beams are parallel to support plane. Image is received onto the plane, which is parallel to the support plane by means of optical system, which has optical axis to be perpendicular to support plane. Images of the beams have no geometrical distortions. Precision may be improved due to application of linear photodetectors with increased resolution and which are separate for any area of measurements. Dialog mode is available when using microcomputer provided with a display, when parameters of the feet are measured by an operator and these parameters differ from typical ones greatly.
