Description

Devices are known for determining the gas velocity by the Doppler shift of spectral lines. They are suitable for determining high velocities of gas particles in absolute units and do not distort notes by inserting probes, etc. However, when using such devices, alkali metal vapors must first be introduced into the flow, the spectrum of which is thermally excited, and hot gases. In addition, the instrument readings are averaged over the entire flow region, which limits the measurement by determining only average velocities along the entire flow cross section under study.

Такое выполнение устройства позвол ет измер ть скорости движени  холодных потоков газа и повышает точность измерени .In the proposed device, in contrast to the known, gas luminescence is created by a source of fast particles introduced into the stream by a narrow beam or by an electric discharge with electrodes located in the gas stream. Such an embodiment of the device makes it possible to measure the speeds of movement of cold gas streams and improves the measurement accuracy.

The drawing shows the scheme of the device.

A beam / of fast electrons emitted by the source is introduced into the gas stream. Under the influence of electronic shocks, a gas is generated. Due to the short decay time, intense gas glow occurs only in the electron beam. The light emitted by the flux region 3, through the windows 4 and the lenses 5 passes into the light guide 6. Then, using mirrors 7, the radiation passes through the filter into the interferometer 8. The camera 9 records the measurement results. Since the line of observation 10 forms an angle a with the wall //, the value of the Doppler mixing is determined by the formula:

:С.. :WITH..

,where: l, is the wavelength of the given line :. ,

V - скорость потока; с - скорость света;V is the flow rate; c is the speed of light;

, - cos а., - cos a.

и - угол, образованный линией наблюдени  и вектором скорости потока.and - the angle formed by the line of observation and the flow velocity vector.

In the case of studying high pressure flows, a beam of fast ions can be used to excite a gas glow. A gas glow can also be created with the aid of an arc or spark discharge, the electrodes of which are placed in a gas stream.

A device for determining gas velocity in high-speed flows by the Doppler shift method of spectral lines, characterized in that, in order to improve the measurement accuracy of the monitored quantity, it uses a source of fast particles introduced into the stream by a narrow beam or an electric discharge with electrodes to initiate gas emission. located in the gas stream.
