The invention relates to electrothermal, in particular, to sources of high-intensity heating using a high-current arc electric discharge transferred between the surfaces of the electrode and the product by a magnetic field, including for soldering large-sized copper parts of the windings of powerful electric machines by hard solders, and can be used for heating during annealing, quenching, or tempering of the surface areas of large-sized parts made of conductive materials. The purpose of the invention is to increase the efficiency of the burner and reduce the flow of protective gas and cooling water. The drawing shows the burner in the section. The burner contains an annular non-consumable electrode 1 with a cooling system, an electromagnet with excitation winding 2, a magnetic core 3. Electrode 1 is fixed by an insulation plate 4. Inside the electrode 1 there is a central core 5 mounted relative to the electrode 1 with an annular gap 6. The core 5 is made with a central channel 7 for supplying protective gas and a solid pole end at the working end of the burner. In core 5, radial holes 8 are provided, communicating with channel 7 and annular gap 6, which acts as a nozzle. When using a torch for soldering, annealing or hardening with a magnetically controlled arc, it is not permissible to melt the material of the workpiece. In these cases, the optimal conditions for heating the products are inside the arc discharge circuit, and the most heated part of the magnetic core 3 is the pole end of its central core 5. The protective gas cools this end, flows through numerous openings 8 and enters the gap b. From the gap 6, the heated gas flows under the end of the core 5, protecting the surface being treated from air, and naturally flows into the surrounding space through the gap between the end of the electrode and the surface being heated. The gas enters the gap (discharge zone) heated, as a result of which the energy consumed from the power source for its ionization in the discharge channel decreases in proportion to the gas temperature rise. In addition, part of the gas enters the discharge zone already ionized, and, moreover, the lower its flow rate, the more so. The minimum flow rate of the protective gas in the burner is limited by the rate of its diffusion from the discharge zone and the residual plasma shield between the end of the electrode and the heated surface. The tests carried out on the layout of the proposed burner for brazing with a magnetically controlled arc showed that, compared with the known devices with the same thermal power, the flow rate of protective gas, which was used argon, is about 3-4 times less, and the power consumed from the source decreases by 18 -20%. The flow rate of water cooling electrode node is reduced by 10-12%. In addition, when using the proposed burner for soldering large-sized copper parts of the windings of powerful electric machines, which is currently carried out using gas acetylene burners, instead of three workers it is enough to use one or lower qualifications. When performing this operation using the proposed burner, neither acetylene nor oxygen is required, and the soldering process can be fully automated.
