Abstract

The invention relates to an arrangement for rheological characterization of fluids by shearing fluid into a thin gap between two surfaces with the aid of a measurement probe which can be inserted into the fluid. The arrangement comprises: a) a measurement probe 1 consisting of two tubes 2, 3 arranged in one another, which are intended to be pushed down into a fluid, the rheological properties of which are to be characterized so that the fluid penetrates into a thin gap 4 between the tubes; b) an operating member 6 for the tubes 2, 3, arranged so as, on a given signal, to displace one tube 3 axially relative to the other tube 2 with a given defined force, and c) a timing arrangement 7 which is arranged so as to be started simultaneously with the initiation of said displacement and to be stopped when a short displacement of predetermined length of one tube relative to the other has been completed. The rheological properties are characterized with the aid of the time thus measured. <IMAGE>
