Abstract

According to the present invention, the overall aggregated length of electrical conductors such as busbars and/or cables being used in an electric battery unit (500) may be reduced by use of battery modules (501-509) of two different configurations. Each battery module (501 -509) comprises a plurality of electric battery cells (401 -405), and in particular an odd number of electric battery cells (401-405), and the electric battery cells (401-405) are arranged differently in the two configurations. The upper faces of the electric battery cells (401-405) comprise external positive and negative connection terminals (401A, 405B, 411A, 415B) for connection to other battery modules in different corners of the battery module (501 -509).In addition, the first and second configuration comprises the connection terminals (401A, 405B, 411A, 415B) arranged in different corner regions in relation to each other. This allows arranging the battery modules (501-509) of an electric battery unit (500) in a way that results in use of shorter electrical connectors when interconnecting the battery modules (501 -509) of a battery unit (500).
