Abstract
There is disclosed herein a terminal assembly (100) for a cylindrical secondary cell. In the terminal assembly (100), there is a rivet (105) provided with an external portion (120) configured to close an opening (434o) in a casing (434) of the cylindrical cell and to be arranged substantially on the outside of the casing (434), and an internal portion (110) configured to provide a direct electrical connection between an electrode roll (432) in the secondary cell and the external portion (120). On the the internal portion (110) there is a shaft (110a) configured to extend axially through the casing (434) of the secondary cell from the external portion (120), and a current collecting portion (110b) joined to the shaft (110a), configured to be in direct electrical contact with the electrode roll (434) in the secondary cell, to thereby function as a current collecting plate in the secondary cell. Also disclosed is a cylindrical secondary cell and a method for manufacturing a cylindrica secondary cell.
