Abstract

An automotive platform (1) is disclosed, comprising a base plate (2), a propulsion system, and a battery pack (10) configured to power the propulsion system. The base plate comprises a front compartment (3), a rear compartment (4) and a middle compartment (5). The battery pack is arranged in each of the front, rear and middle compartments and comprises at least one vertical stack of cells (100), wherein each cell of the stack comprises a positive electrode plate (110), a negative electrode plate (120) and a separator (130) interposed between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate. Neighbouring cells of the stack are arranged such that the positive electrode plate of a first one of the neighbouring cells is electrically contacting the negative electrode plate of the other one of the neighbouring cells, thereby series connecting the cells.
