Abstract

A product for supporting a long-shafted tool (700) includes a wearable item (1) such as a harness. A pouch member (300) is attached to the wearable item and is provided for receiving a lower end of the tool (700) and for supporting the tool during overhead operation by a user. The wearable item preferably also includes a neck-supporting cushion (410) that is mounted on a supporting rod member (420), which is attached to the wearable item and may be vertically adjustable via a pair of brackets (440). In embodiments may be configured as a harness, having shoulder straps (100), a hip belt (130), and a front plate member (134) to which the pouch (300) is vertically adjustably attached. In this harness embodiment, the brackets (410) are attached to the shoulder straps (100). The pouch member (300) is preferably detachable.

Claims (6)

1. A product for supporting a long-shafted tool (700), including: a weara ble item (1) that has a hip belt (130), and a front plate member (134) to which a receiving member (300) is attached; wherein the receiving member (300) is provided for receiving a lower end of the tool (700) and for supporting the tool during overhead operation by a user; CHARACTERIZED BY: the wearable item (1) being configured as a harness having shoulder straps (100); and a neck-supporting cushion (410) mounted on a supporting rod member (420), ends of which are slidably secured in respective ones of a pair of brackets (440) that are attached to respective ones of the shoulder straps (100) such that the neck-supporting cushion (410) is vertically adjustable.
2. The product of claim 1, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT the receiving member (300) is vertically adjustably attached to the front plate member (134) by means of at least one strap (310) in a respective slide buckle (114).
3. The product of claim 2, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT the adjustable strap loops (310) loop through grooves (315, 316) in the front plate member (134), therebyforming an adjustable friction lock.
4. The product of any preceding claim, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT the receiving member (300) is configured as a pouch.
5. The product of any preceding claim, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT the receiving member (300) is detachable from the wearable item (1 ).
6. The product according to claim 1, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT the receiving member (300) is a ring or buckle half mounted on the wearable item and is configured to receive a snap, clip or buckle half secured to the end of the tool shaft.
