Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of estimating the position of a mobile station in a cellular network, comprising a serving cell and neighboring, cells, the method comprising the steps of : employing different sub-methods to estimate an actual position of the mobile station, said submethods comprising at least two of: selecting a center of a cell, selecting an intersection of a cell, a middle point of a position in cells, taking an action when no intersection between the serving cell and the a best cell occurs, combining said sub-methods with each other with respect to a size of a serving cell, dividing the size of said serving cell in a number of different sectors, based on a number of pixels, which every cell is made of a number of pixels, and selecting the best sum-methods for each cell-group.
