Steel contains, mass%: carbon 0.85–1.05; silicon 0.3–0.5; manganese 0.2–0.3; chromium 0.2–0.3; vanadium 0.03–0.05; palladium 2.0–6.0; silver 2.5–3.5; rest is iron.
EFFECT: technological ductility of steel is increased.

Description

The invention relates to the field of metallurgy and relates to compositions of steels that can be used for the manufacture of jewelry, mainly earrings, brooches.

Known steel containing, by weight. %: carbon 1.0-1.1; silicon 0.3-0.6; manganese 0.17-0.35; chrome 0.2-0.3; vanadium 0.1-0.15; REM 0.03-0.05; calcium 0.01-0.02; nitrogen 0.08-0.1; iron - the rest [1].

The objective of the invention is to increase the technological ductility of steel.

The technical result is achieved in that the steel for the manufacture of jewelry, including carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium, vanadium, iron, additionally contains palladium and silver, and the components are in the following ratio, wt. %: carbon 0.85-1.05; silicon 0.3-0.5; manganese 0.2-0.3; chrome 0.2-0.3; vanadium 0.03-0.05; palladium 2.0-6.0; silver 2.5-3.5; iron is the rest.

Steel can withstand 18-20 bends to failure for all the compositions listed in the table.

In the steel composition, the components manifest themselves as follows. Silver, palladium contribute to the increase of technological plasticity of steel. Palladium improves the metal base of the alloy. Chrome, vanadium and silver prevent cracking during bending of steel.

Steel can be smelted in small quantities in electric furnaces. The main source material for steelmaking is a specially prepared mixture.

Steel for the manufacture of jewelry, including carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium, vanadium and iron, characterized in that it additionally contains palladium and silver, the components being in the following ratio, wt.%: Carbon 0.85-1.05; silicon 0.3-0.5; manganese 0.2-0.3; chrome 0.2-0.3; vanadium 0.03-0.05; palladium 2.0-6.0; silver 2.5-3.5; iron is the rest.
