Description

The invention relates to rocket and space technology and can be used to identify space objects of artificial origin in outer space by ground surveillance services.

G02B 5/124).A known method of retroreflection using cubic corner reflectors, often used to perform linear measurements in space, including in the space region. Using this solution on spacecraft, one can increase their observability in near-Earth space (see application for invention of the Russian Federation No. 2005126848 dated July 27, 2006, IPC G02B 5/124).

However, the design used in this method is not compact enough, which is especially unacceptable when creating small-sized spacecraft, as well as complicated and expensive.

Использование предложенного способа связано с облучением лучом лазера контрольной поверхности (патент РФ на изобретение №2442998, МПК G01S 17/74, 2012).The closest in technical essence to the present invention is a method for identifying spacecraft and their debris in outer space using a laser location, in which a reflective coating is applied to the outer surface of the spacecraft’s body and solar panels with the inclusion of reflective elements, which comprise a composition of substances, a spectrum the reflection of which encodes a complex of special information about the space object, and the identification of the space object is carried out when irradiating a retroreflective coating with laser light, the ground observation stations are installed and the information is read by spectrometric means. To implement this method, it is planned to use a marking coating with reflective and retroreflective properties. The use of the proposed method is associated with the laser beam irradiating the control surface (RF patent for the invention No. 2442998, IPC G01S 17/74, 2012).

The disadvantages of this method are the following:

- необходимость нанесения световозвращающего покрытия на всю поверхность аппарата;- the need for a retroreflective coating on the entire surface of the apparatus;

- низкая надежность достижения лазерного луча поверхности с возвращающим покрытием;- low reliability of achieving a laser beam surface with a return coating;

- сложность нанесения покрытия на поверхности конструкций, имеющих сложную форму.- the complexity of coating on the surface of structures having a complex shape.

The objective of the invention is to provide a method in which the technical result is to increase the reliability of identification of space objects of artificial origin in outer space.

This technical result in a method for identifying artificial objects of cosmic origin in outer space is associated with the use of a laser location, in which a retroreflective coating is applied to the outer surface of the space object’s body with the inclusion of retroreflective elements, which are composed of substances whose reflection spectrum encodes a set of special information about space object, and the identification of the space object is carried out upon irradiation with retroreflective the surface of the ground observation station with laser light and the information is read by spectrometric means, it is achieved by the fact that the retroreflective coating on the surface of the space object is made in the form of equidistant bands, the radiation of the space object is carried out by two parallel laser beams, while the distance between the laser beams should be less than the bandwidth reflective coating and more distance between these bands.

The invention can be explained as follows.

The tasks to be solved in the present invention are related to the need to increase the reliability of identification of a space object of artificial origin in outer space with the aim of entering it into the appropriate database and possibly assessing the level of potential danger from it in relation to other objects, including inhabited ones. To eliminate the previously mentioned disadvantages of the prototype, a method for identifying space objects of artificial origin is proposed, which consists in the use of retroreflective coating with the inclusion of reflective elements in the form of stripes. In the claimed invention, it is proposed instead of a continuous retroreflective coating on the surface of space objects to perform equidistantly spaced stripes of a fixed width, and identification be carried out by irradiating the surface with two parallel laser beams. The use of laser is associated with the rapid and dynamic development of laser systems and their competitiveness with traditional radio engineering systems.

Obviously, the reading of information from the surface of a space object is provided only when a laser beam enters the prepared area. The problems of using laser locations are primarily associated with a rather complex surface shape on which a retroreflective coating should be applied. Switching to separate strips, on the one hand, greatly facilitates the application of coatings, including in areas characterized by a complex surface, and, on the other hand, leads to a significant reduction in the consumption of expensive retroreflective coatings and simplifies the process of applying this coating.

To ensure that laser light is made in the form of strips of a retroreflective coating, the irradiation of space objects is carried out by two parallel laser beams, the distance between the laser beams being chosen as follows. It should be less than the width of the strips of the retroreflective coating and, at the same time, greater than the distance between these strips. This requirement is also implemented in the case of simultaneous use of strips of various widths as part of a retroreflective coating.

Using the proposed method can significantly reduce the cost of an expensive retroreflective coating, simplify the process of applying it on a complex surface and ensure high reliability of laser beams to achieve a retroreflective coating on the surface of a space object.

It should be noted that, along with the elimination of the claimed disadvantages of the prototype, the advantages of this method are the ability to perform various coating options:

- в виде параллельно расположенных полос;- in the form of parallel strips;

- в виде спиральных полос;- in the form of spiral strips;

- в виде эквидистантно расположенных полос, произвольно ориентированных на поверхности конструкции космического объекта.- in the form of equidistant bands located randomly oriented on the surface of the structure of a space object.

Thus, the proposed method for identifying space objects of artificial origin in outer space can improve the reliability of identification of space objects of artificial origin in outer space.
