Далее ствол возвращается в исходное положение, при этом пуля подается в противоположный ствол. В патронник 2 вставляется холостой патрон 4. При инициировании бойком 3 холостого патрона пуля и компенсатор отдачи с запрессованным штоком разлетаются в противоположные стороны, компенсируя отдачу. Необходимо отметить, что чем больше масса компенсатора отдачи, тем выше скорость пули на срезе ствола. При этом желательно, чтобы пуля и компенсатор отдачи покидали устройство одновременно.
