SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of construction, namely, to a hydraulic insulation apron for ruberoid shingle roofing. The apron comprises a dome and a surrounding flange part, which during installation is at least partially covered by ruberoid shingles. The flange part is made with two vertical walls arranged from opposite sides of the dome directly to the lower edge of the flange part, at the same time ruberoid shingles must be cut along specified vertical walls, and the section of the flange part arranged between the vertical walls remains visible as it is installed on the roof. At the straight lower edge of the visible section there is a reinforced part.

Description

The present invention relates to a waterproofing apron for roofing shingle roofing, a waterproofing apron containing a dome and a surrounding flange, which when installed at least partially covered with roofing shingles.
Previously, the waterproofing apron was installed in such a way that only the dome remained visible or, as an option, the waterproofing apron overlapped with the shingles in the same way as the shingles themselves, and in this case the flange part remained completely visible from the eaves, below the lower edge of the dome.
When the flange part is completely covered with shingles, a seam in the direction of the roof ridge is formed between ruberoid shingles and the flange part from the edge of the dome on the side of the eaves, whereby water easily passes between the shingles. In addition, the installation is time-consuming and lengthy, since the roofing material must be cut to obtain an oval hole for the dome.
Since the flange portion of the prior art waterproofing apron remains visible from the side of the cornice, there is a problem due to the fact that the plastic flange portion and roofing shingles have different coefficients of thermal expansion. In summer, the roof can have a temperature of approximately + 50 ° C, and in winter approximately -40 ° C. In addition, solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation leads to its consequences in such installations.
US Pat. No. 4,768,812 A discloses a waterproofing apron for ruberoid shingle roofing in accordance with the preamble. The flange part from the eaves of this waterproofing apron remains completely visible during installation. On the lower surface of the flange part, on the opposite sides of the longitudinal axis of the flange there is a pair of stiffeners located on the sides of the elongated edges to give rigidity and reinforce the open bottom edge of the flange.
The present invention is to eliminate the above problems, which can be achieved by using a waterproofing apron, characterized in that the flange part has two vertical walls extending from opposite sides of the dome directly to the lower edge of the flange part, while ruberoid shingles must be cut along the vertical walls , and the portion of the flange located between the vertical walls must be left visible when installed on the roof, and in the straight lower edge of the said portion, located between the vertical walls, a reinforced part is provided.
Preferably, said reinforced part has two or three thickenings at a distance from each other, while in the middle of said thickenings are made recesses or holes for fixing screws or round ribbed nails, by means of which the flange part must be attached to the wooden structure under roof shingles.
The corners of the flange portion outside the vertical walls are preferably inclined so that they are completely covered by adjacent shingles.
The flange part outside the vertical walls forms a horseshoe-shaped around the dome, and along the edge there are recesses for roofing nails at the same distance.
Said flange portion outside the vertical walls on its upper and lower surfaces is provided with equally spaced grooves parallel to the outer edge of the flange portion, arranged so that the grooves on the upper surface are located between the grooves on the lower surface. The grooves preferably have a V-shaped cross section.
In one embodiment, the dome is made in the form of a roof fan, while its upper section is molded in the form of a lattice structure, and on its sides there are protrusions for the structure of the cover, and inside the dome there is a short sleeve surrounding the lattice structure and extending downward from it, this short the sleeve may be connected to a ventilation duct or an analog coming from the interior of the building.
In another embodiment, the dome is designed to enter the duct, while the dome is installed at an angle of 30 ° to the perpendicular to the plane of the flange portion to facilitate the installation of the duct vertically on the roof with a steep slope.

1-3 show a waterproofing apron, the dome 1 of which is a roof fan. In the upper part, the dome is molded in the form of a lattice structure 1a that covers the opening of the dome for the fan, and on the sides of the dome 1 there are protrusions 1b for the cover structure 10, the open ends of which are provided with a grill 10a, the horizontal ribs of which are inclined upwards to prevent water and snow from entering fan. Inside the dome 1, surrounding the lattice structure 1a and extending downward from it, there is a short sleeve 1c, which can be connected to a ventilation duct or something similar coming from the interior of the building.
4-6 show a waterproofing apron, the dome 1 of which is designed to enter the duct. In this embodiment, the dome 1 is pre-installed at an angle of 30 ° to the perpendicular to the plane of the flange portion to facilitate the installation of the duct vertically on the roof with a steep slope.
In all embodiments, the flange portion 2 surrounding the waterproofing dome 1 has the same shape. Flange 2 has two vertical walls 4, extending from the opposite sides of the dome 1 directly to the lower edge of the flange part 2, while roofing shingles 3 must be cut along the vertical walls 4. The vertical walls 4 mentioned give rigidity to the flange part 2 and prevent it from bending upward. From the side of the ridge of the dome roof, ruberoid shingles 3 overlapping with the flange part 2 must be cut so that they form a semicircular hole corresponding to the outer diameter of the dome. The portion 2a of the flange portion 2 between the vertical walls 4 should remain visible when installed on the roof. Thus, the hole provided in ruberoid shingles overlapping with the flange part 2 extends in a straight line along the vertical walls 4 to the lower edge of the flange part 2. Thus, no hard-to-create oval-shaped hole is required. In the straight lower edge of the flange portion portion 2a between the vertical walls 4, there is a reinforced section 5 lying between the vertical walls 4. In this section 5, two or three thickenings 5a are provided that are spaced apart from each other and have recesses or holes for fixing screws in the center 6 or round ribbed nails, through which the flange part 2 must be attached to the wooden structure 7 under the roofing shingles 3. With this fastening, the formation of blisters caused by temperature fluctuations is effectively prevented s, flange part 2 in said open area 2a.
Since the waterproofing apron overlaps in the same way as roofing shingles 3, the corners 2b of the lower edge of the flange portion 2 are inclined outside the vertical walls 4, as shown in the figure. As a result, the portion of the flange part 2 outside the walls 4 does not lift the shingles that cover it from the lower edge on both sides of the flange part 2, in which case the corresponding angles would be visible between the ruberoid shingles 3 and would impair the appearance of the assembly.
The portion 2b of the flange portion outside the vertical walls 4 forms a horseshoe shape around the dome 1, and along its edge there are recesses at the same distance for roofing nails. This design guarantees an appropriate spacing between the nails and their proper positioning.
Said portion 2c of the flange part 2 outside the vertical walls 4 on its upper and lower surfaces is provided with equally spaced separate grooves 9a, 9b parallel to the outer edge of the flange part 2, arranged so that the grooves 9a on the upper surface of the flange part 2 are located between the grooves 9b on the lower surface of the flange portion 2. The grooves 9a, 9b preferably have a V-section. The grooves arranged in this way improve the adhesion of bitumen to the flange part 2 and optimally absorb thermal displacements.
Figure 5 and its detailed representation clearly show how a waterproofing apron should be installed when roofing shingles are laid. The shingle is formed by stacked pieces of roofing material, one longitudinal side of which is straight and the opposite longitudinal side has beveled tongues and cutouts between them having the same shape, so that the corresponding edge forms the edges of the lower half of two or three shingles in the same row. The lower surface of ruberoid shingles has bitumen glue on the half, with tongues and cuts. The next row of ruberoid shingles is overlapped and offset above the previous row, so that its beveled tongues are aligned with the bottom of the beveled cutouts between the tongues of the previous row. Thus, their beveled cutouts form the edges of the upper part of the previous row, and their tongues form the edges of the lower part of the new row of shingle. The waterproofing apron is installed so that at least the lower portion of its flange part 2 overlaps the ruberoid shingle, and the waterproofing apron is attached to the roofing shingles with bitumen glue, and to the wooden structure 7 under the roofing layers with screws 6 and roofing nails in the recesses 8 along the edge of the outer portion 2c of the flange part 2. Next, the next row of shingle is laid, as a result of which part of the shingle is cut so that a hole is formed, possibly in a piece of roofing material of the next row, the shape of which It follows the shape defined jointly by the vertical walls 4 of the flange part 2 and the lower edge of the dome.

Claims (9)

1. A waterproofing apron for ruberoid shingle roofs, comprising a dome (1) and a flange part (2) surrounding the dome, which, when installed, is at least partially covered with ruberoid shingle, characterized in that the flange part (2) contains two vertical walls (4) extending from opposite sides of the dome (1) right to the lower edge of the flange part (2) along which ruberoid shingles are cut (3), while the section (2a) of the flange part (2) between the vertical walls (4) remains visible when installed on roof, and section (2a) has in its m straight bottom edge extending between the vertical walls (4), a reinforced portion (5).
2. The waterproofing apron according to claim 1, characterized in that the reinforced section is provided with two or three bulges (5a) at a distance from each other, while in their center there are recesses or holes for fixing screws or round ribbed nails for fastening the flange part ( 2) to the wooden structure (7) under roofing roofing shingles (3).
3. A waterproofing apron according to claim 1, characterized in that the corners (2b) of the flange part (2) outside the vertical walls (4) are inclined so that they are completely covered by adjacent ruberoid shingles (3).
