Description

 The invention relates to agricultural production.
A known method of mulching the soil, including loosening the soil and making 4-10 t / ha of dung humus or straw [1]
The disadvantage of this method is that, due to the decrease in the number of livestock, the cost of manure is sharply increased and the dung humus is expensive, therefore it is difficult to harvest 10 tons of dung humus per hectare. Transporting and applying a large amount of organic fertilizer requires a lot of labor and equipment. In addition, dung humus quickly loses its shape (structure) and after one tillage it loses its role as a mulch material. It is possible that a person will become infected with diseases during transportation and introduction of manure, and then through the crop. The introduction of dung mulch during plant growth pollutes the leaves of the plants (covers them with soil and dung dust).
 The purpose of the invention is the reduction in cost, improving the convenience of introducing mulch.
 To do this, as a mulch material take the mass of crushed dry stems and fennel shoots in doses of 0.3-0.5 t / ha.
 The method includes loosening the soil, harvesting, transporting and introducing mulch material into the rows of row crops.
 At the same time, the masses of crushed dry stems and fennel shoots in doses of 0.3-0.5 t / ha are taken as mulch.
 Fennel stalks (Foeniculum Vulgare Mill.) 1.5-2.3 m high after harvesting the seeds (the tips of the stems with umbrellas) are mowed, cut, for example, on straw choppers 1-2 cm long and cut under canopies. Then they are introduced into the row-spacing of plants in the required rate of 0.3-0.5 t / ha. Every year, 10-25 t / ha of fennel is obtained from sowing. Fennel heap covers the surface of the soil.
 The proposed method has advantages compared to the prototype.
 The material is available because fennel, especially in seed crops, is a perennial high-speed plant and annually gives 10-25 tons of mass suitable for use as mulch material after grinding from 1 ha.
 The material is very light, the absolute mass is about 0.1 and does not require a lot of labor and vehicles for transportation. Introduced into the soil, it is easily managed and does not pollute the plants.
 The material is clean in a sanitary sense and it is not dangerous to work with it for a long time. In addition, the passage of a disease by a plant and through plants to humans is excluded.
 The material is durable and highly efficient. After application to the soil, it affects both the mulch and the next year. In addition, it remains in pieces in the soil, which improves the physical properties of the soil, especially air exchange, heavy soils become more loose, i.e. the material gradually rotes over the course of several years, mixing with the soil and acting like an organic fertilizer.
 This mulch can be applied by irrigation water, while the water is directed to a fennel heap located at the beginning of a row of plants. Water carries it away and after water seeps into the soil, the mulch remains a thin layer on the soil surface between the rows. This mulch retains moisture well in the soil, it passes rain well into the soil, and does not allow it to be compacted from precipitation. Such mulch provides the best air exchange in the soil.
 The use of fennel mulch on an area of 1 hectare provides savings in materials, funds and increased crop yields.
