Abstract
Description
The invention relates to contact spot and seam welding of parts primarily from metal composite materials and can be used in mechanical engineering to control the size of welded joints.
There is a method of destructive control of the size of point and suture joints, including the manufacture of a transverse macro section from a welded joint, etching of the test surface with chemical reagents and subsequent visual assessment of the size of the weld according to the size of the expressed boundary between the cast structure of the core metal and the deformed structure of the base metal.
The disadvantage of this method is the relatively low accuracy and narrow scope associated with the lack of the possibility of guaranteed determination of partial or complete lack of fusion (for example, in the absence of mixing of the core metal during the welding process), as well as the absence of a pronounced boundary between the cast core and the base metal during welding a number of metal composite materials, in particular the aluminum-boron system (AMg6-V).
There is a method of destructive testing of resistance welding joints, in which an indicator material (MI) is placed between the parts before lap welding, then welding, macro section manufacturing, chemical etching and a visual assessment of the nature of mixing of the core metal with the MI dissolved in it and the dimensions of the cast core along the boundaries are carried out distribution of indicator material in it.
The disadvantages of this method are low accuracy and a narrow scope of control, due to the metallurgical incompatibility of MI and the base metal, leading to a change in the kinetics of growth and size of the cast core, as well as to a deterioration in the mixing of the core metal, which is unacceptable when welding metal composite materials.
The aim of the invention is to improve the accuracy and expansion of technological capabilities for controlling the size of welded joints.
δ≥ , (1) где S - толщина одной детали, мм;
А - проплавление деталей, %;
Кmах - максимальная чувствительность измерительной аппаратуры, %;
A method for controlling the dimensions of welded joints made by spot and seam welding, mainly from metal-composite materials, is that prior to welding, an indicator material in the form of a foil is placed between the parts with an overlap, welding is performed, transverse macro sections are made from the joints obtained and weld sizes are checked compounds by the difference in the chemical composition of the cast core and the base material, and the size of the welded joints is controlled by spectral analysis of the surface and microsection, and the foil is chosen similar in chemical composition of the matrix material to be welded with a content of at least one additional alloying element, the minimum thickness (δ) of the foil is chosen from the relationship:
δ≥ , (1) where S is the thickness of one part, mm;
A - penetration of parts,%;
To max - the maximum sensitivity of the measuring equipment,%;
K lf - the content of the additional alloying element in the indicator material,%, and the dimensions of the welded joint are determined by the size of the zone containing the additional alloying element.
When welding metal-composite materials, as well as when welding other metals and alloys, during the heating of parts by passing current, a zone of mutual melting and mixing of the liquid metal is formed - a molten core, which crystallizes after the current pulse is turned off. In the process of mixing a liquid metal, the interface between the parts disappears, various inclusions and oxide films are removed from the joint zone and they are dissolved or redistributed in the volume of the liquid metal. The strength of such a compound is determined by the size of the cast core, i.e. diameter (d I ) and penetration (A,%). When foil is introduced into the welding zone, its part, limited by the diameter of the core, is melted and, due to mixing of the metal, is distributed throughout the entire volume of the core.
Vя= , (2) где S - толщина одной детали, мм;
Based on the assumption that the core volume (V i ) is determined by the volume of the cylinder with a diameter equal to d i and a height depending on the penetration of two parts (A,%), we have:
V i = , (2) where S is the thickness of one part, mm;
A - penetration of parts,%, then the volume of the molten indicator material in the form of a foil (V f ) can be represented as a cylinder with a diameter d i and a height equal to the thickness of the foil (δ):
V f = · Δ, (3) where δ is the thickness of the foil, mm.
Кми= · 100% = · 100% = · 100% (4)
Клм=Кми· Клф· 10-2= · 100% · Клф· 10-2= , (5) где Клф - содержание дополнительного легирующего элемента в МИ в виде фольги, %.The percentage of MI in the molten core (K mi) will be:
K mi = 100% = 100% = 100% (4)
Then the content of the additional alloying element in the volume of the cast core (K lm ,%) will be:
K lm = K mi · K lf · 10 -2 = · 100% · To lf · 10 -2 = , (5) where K lf is the content of the additional alloying element in MI in the form of foil,%.
Клм ≥ Kmах (6) где Кmах - максимальная чувствительность измерительной аппаратуры, %.The control accuracy will be determined by the maximum sensitivity of the measuring equipment, therefore, the minimum content of the alloying element in the core metal should correspond to the inequality:
K lm ≥ K max (6) where K max is the maximum sensitivity of the measuring equipment,%.
Based on the above dependences, the thickness of the foil from MI can be calculated from the ratio:
δ≥
The maximum allowable thickness of the foil will in turn depend on the maximum allowable content of the alloying element in the core volume, which is associated with the possible effect of individual alloying elements on the strength properties of the compounds.
dя.непр=5,7 мм; dя.ном=7 мм; dя. PRI me R. Contact spot welding was carried out on a MTV-80.02 direct current machine with samples of metal composite material AMg6-B (a matrix of alloy AMg6 and filler boron fibers) with a combination of thicknesses of 1.4 + 1.4 mm. On the welded samples, the diameter of the cast core was:
d i.nepr = 5.7 mm; d i.nom = 7 mm; d i.kr = 8.4 mm.
A foil made of D16 alloy was used as an indicator material, in which copper (K lf -3.5 ... 4.5%) is used as an additional alloying element compared to the composite matrix. The foil was placed in the lap of the welded parts.
е. Based on the maximum sensitivity of the measuring equipment (K max ≥ ≥0.1%), the foil thickness was calculated from the relation (1):
δ≥ = ≥ 0.06 mm, i.e. δ≈ 0.1 mm.
After welding, macro sections were made from the samples and, according to the method presented in Fig. 1, X-ray spectral analysis was performed on a CAMEBAX MIKROBEAM installation along the section axis with a step of 1 μm (this made it possible to quantify the copper content along the entire length of the passage and obtain a graph of its distribution by X axis); in FIG. 2 - measurement results. The presented curves characterize the concentration of copper along the X axis on samples with d i = 5.7 and 8.4 mm.
е. снижению концентрации меди в объеме литого ядра (Клм).From FIG. 2 shows that the copper content in the unmelted foil (in the sealing strip and in the gap between the parts) remains unchanged (3.9 ... 4%), and in the core zone K lm drops sharply and is 0.39 and 0.17% respectively. In this case, a sharp jump in the value of K lm in a relatively small area (4 ... 10 μm), characterizing the melting boundary, allows one to estimate the diameter of the cast core (d i ) with high accuracy. The amount of penetration of parts is determined based on the obtained values of K lm according to the formula:
A = , % (7) where it is taken into account that an increase in the value of A leads to an increase in the volume of molten metal, i.e. decrease in copper concentration in the volume of the cast core (K lm ).
Thus, for the case shown in FIG. 2, the values of A are 37% with d i = 5.7 mm and 85% with d i = 8.4 mm.
The general results of the measurements are shown in the table.
Thus, the claimed method can significantly improve the accuracy of control and expand its technological capabilities, in particular by applying to control the size of welded joints from metal composite materials.
