Claims (6)

1. Centrifugal compressor containing
housing;
a rotor supported in the housing with the possibility of rotation and having an impeller mounted on the rotor; and
a labyrinth seal fixed in the housing and placed opposite the rotor, in which gas compression is ensured by rotation of the specified impeller,
where the labyrinth seal is installed at least in the suction compartment of the impeller or on a balancing piston balancing the rotor pull force, the diameter of the rotor opposite the labyrinth seal increases or decreases in a stepwise manner, the labyrinth seal is formed of a plurality of grooves in the axial direction, and each the groove is provided with a plurality of pockets formed in the circumferential direction.
