Claims (12)

1. A method of installing an expandable tubular element in a wellbore, comprising the steps of:
lowering the tubular element into the wellbore, while an annular space is formed between the tubular element and the wall of the wellbore;
placing the first composition in the annular space, the first composition being adapted to interact with the second composition in contact with it, so as to form an annular body securing the tubular element in the wellbore;
expanding in a radial direction a section of the tubular element;
prompting the second composition to penetrate into a portion of the annular space surrounding said expanded tubular section; and
after the step in which the second composition is induced to penetrate into said portion of the annular space, the unexpanded section of the tubular member is disconnected from said expanded tubular section and the unexpanded tubular section is removed from the expanded tubular section.
2. The method according to claim 1, in which the tubular element is provided with container means containing said second composition, and in which the container means releases the second composition into said part of the annular space with radial expansion of said section of the tubular element.
3. The method according to claim 2, in which the container means releases the second composition into said portion of the annular space upon deformation of the container means due to the radial expansion of said section of the tubular element.
4. The method according to claim 2 or 3, in which the container means includes at least one annular container surrounding the tubular element.
5. The method according to claim 4, in which the container means includes a plurality of annular containers surrounding the tubular element, said ring containers being spaced axially along the tubular element.
6. The method according to claim 2 or 3, in which the tubular element includes an inlet section for the flow of hydrocarbon fluid into the tubular element and in which container means are absent on said inlet section.
7. The method according to claim 6, in which the method further comprises the step of removing said first composition from the part of the annular space surrounding said inlet section.
8. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 3, in which the second composition is an activating composition, and the first composition is a liquid composition, adapted to harden upon contact with the activating composition.
9. The method according to claim 8, in which the liquid composition is adapted to harden upon contact with the activating composition in the first period of time, and in which the liquid composition is adapted to harden in the absence of the activating composition in the second period of time, longer than the first time span.
10. The method of claim 8, in which the liquid composition and the activating composition are adapted to chemically interact with each other so as to form the said annular body.
11. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 3, in which the step of disconnecting the unexpanded section of the tubular element from the expanded section of the tubular element comprises the step of cutting the tubular element.
12. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the step of removing said unexpanded section from said expanded section comprises the step of removing the unexpanded section from the wellbore.
