Claims (12)

1. A method of increasing the antioxidant potential of selenite- or selenate-containing aqueous solutions, characterized in that citric, acetic, malic, malic, carbonic acids, various fruit acids or mixtures thereof are mixed in a selenite- or selenate-containing aqueous solution. 2. A preparation containing a pharmaceutically acceptable or food compatible form of selenium in the form of selenite or selenate, a pharmaceutically acceptable or food compatible acid selected from the group: citric, acetic, malic, carbonic acids, fruit acids and mixtures thereof. 3. The drug according to claim 2, characterized in that it is contained in an aqueous solution at a pH of less than 7.0, preferably less than 5.0, in particular 3.0-2.5. 4. The drug according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that it has the form of a gel or emulsion. 5. The preparation according to any one of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that it contains buffering agents, dyes, stabilizers, carrier substances or combinations thereof as auxiliary substances. 6. The drug according to any one of paragraphs.2-5, characterized in that it contains as additional effective components antibiotics, antiviral, antifungal, painkillers or anti-inflammatory drugs, or combinations thereof. 7. The drug according to any one of claims 2 to 6 for pharmaceutical use. 8. The use of the drug according to any one of claims 2 to 6 as a food product or additive to food products. 9. The use of a preparation comprising a selenite- or selenate-containing aqueous solution with pharmaceutically acceptable or food-compatible acids mixed with it, for the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention or treatment of diseases caused by peroxides. 10. The use of a preparation comprising a selenite or selenate-containing aqueous solution with pharmaceutically acceptable or food-compatible acids mixed with it, for the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention or treatment of diseases caused by free radicals. 11. The use of a preparation comprising a selenite or selenate-containing aqueous solution with pharmaceutically acceptable or food-compatible acids mixed with it, for the manufacture of a medicament for the prophylaxis or treatment of viral diseases, mainly herpes infections, in particular infections of vesicular lichen. 12. The use of a preparation comprising a selenite or selenate-containing aqueous solution with pharmaceutically acceptable or food compatible acids mixed with it, for the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention or treatment of age spots.
