Abstract

The present invention relates in general to a system for rapid profiling of mixtures, said system comprising a thin-layer chromatographic plate having multiple and varied stationary phases. More specifically, the present invention relates to a system for rapid profiling of mixtures, wherein said multiple stationary phase thin-layer chromatography (MSP-TLC) plate can simultaneously analyze a sample in multiple chromatographic conditions using a single mobile phase. The system for rapid profiling of mixtures according to the present invention can achieve multiple simultaneous chromatographic developments due to novel strategic arrangements in predetermined sectors of different stationary phases, adapted to either parallel or intersecting elution of the single mobile phase. Said multiple simultaneous chromatographic developments, in either parallel or intersecting pattern, yield a profile that could be useful in chemometrics fingerprinting of a sample.
