Abstract

599384 Disclosed is a trailer having a body that can be selectively raised and lowered relative to its wheel assemblies (4). The trailer comprises a drawbar (18) pivotally connected to the body at a forward end thereof, having a pair of spaced apart uprights (26), one upright at or toward each of a pair of sides of the body, and a linear actuator (28) extending between the trailer body and a drawbar upright. Wheel assemblies are located on each side of the trailer body, where for each wheel assembly there is a primary linkage (32) extending between the drawbar upright and the wheel assembly of a same side of the trailer body, and a stabilizing linkage (70) extending between the trailer body and the wheel assembly. In use, a linear actuator driving means is operable to selectively raise and lower the body relative to its wheel assemblies whilst keeping the body substantially parallel to the ground throughout its range of movement (see figures 2 & 6).
