Abstract
597369 Imaging systems for writing information on a light-sensitive label are disclosed. The systems comprise an array (90) of light sources (100), which may be lasers, and an array (105) of lenses (107) corresponding to the light sources for directing the light sources. The array of lenses may direct the respective light beams (104) toward an image plane, or may have substantially parallel optical axes. A labelling apparatus (see 40, figure 1) may be provided for positioning the light-senstive label at an image plane. An optical relay, which may be afocal, and which may have an optical axis substantially parallel to the optical axes of the lenses, may also be included. The optical relay (see 300, figure 15) also may have a reflective surface. The optical relay may produce a magnified image of the light beams on the light-sensitive label and thereby write a pattern thereon. Methods of imaging and methods of writing information on a light sensitive label are also provided.
