Abstract

Oppfinnelsen vedrører en fremgangsmåte for å tilveiebringe en animasjon fra forhåndsregistrerte stillbilder der de relative posisjoner for bildene er kjent. Fremgangsmåten er basert på forhåndsregistrerte stillbilder og lokasjonsdata, assosiert med hvert stillbilde, som angir projeksjonen av det etterfølgende stillbilde inn i det aktuelle stillbildet. Fremgangsmåten omfatter de gjentatte trinn av å tilveiebringe et aktuelt stillbilde, å tilveiebringe lokasjonsdata assosiert med stillbildet, å generere en animasjon basert på det aktuelle stillbildet og lokasjonsdataene, og å presentere animasjonen på et display. Oppfinnelsen tilveiebringer opplevelsen av å kjøre en virtuell bil gjennom de fotograferte veier, enten ved autopilot eller manuelt. Brukeren kan endre hastighet, gir, panorere, skifte felt, svinge i kryss eller ta U-svinger hvor som helst.
