Oppfinnelsen vedrører prosesskontroll i telekommunika- sjonssystemer, særlig GPRS. Oppfinnelsen er et system og en fremgangsmåte for implementering av flere uavhengige tilstandsmaskiner på den samme prosess. Det beskrives hvordan tilstandsmaskinene organiseres i tre, hvordan de aksesserer deres data og hvordan de tilbys generisk under- støttelse, slik som å informere dem om en felles hendelse.
