Abstract

The fire escape ladder which can be neatly stored e.g. in hotel bedroom cupboard, includes two thin steel cables or cords, which are stored in a loop pattern between the rungs. Ladder rungs (2) have a tubular profile with open ends (4). The e.g. Aluminium rungs have a square cross-section. Spacer pieces (7) are clamped on thin steel cables or cords (1) at regular distances. Each spacer rests on ring (8) against the inner surface of rung (1). Hole (6) is large enough to provide passage of ring. Thus spacer and ring move inside profile. Cable is stored in a loop (9) pattern. Ladder is suspended from eyes (3') whilst eyes (3) secure ladder at bottom.
