Abstract

The sorting procedure for goods typically potatoes or sprouts is mounted in a rectangular framework (1) which contains a number of rod units which may be moved along in a back-and-forth movement. Side members and cross members (13) act as fixing places for the rods (9). By arranging the frames as a number of screens, in which each section has a spacing slightly wider than the preceding one, the vegetables or other goods are passed through so that the smallest items fall through first, followed by medium and larger items. At the side edges of the frames, guide strips (7, 8) are provided to divert rolling items toward the centre.
