Abstract
In the redn. catalysts for the removal of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from effluent gases described in the Parent Patent, comprising one or more Group Ib, IIb and/or VIII metals and/or Cr and/or Mn supported on a natural tuff, the latter is replaced by a synthetic zeolites. The catalysts have high selectivity, are unaffected by the presence of O2, H2O, CO2 and SO2 and can be used at low temps. (e.g. 100-500 degrees C). The specification is an addition to 819841, in which the catalyst support is a natural tuff with a compsn. similar to that of mordenite or crionite, consisting essentially of SiO2, Al2O3 and H2O and contg. a total of 1-10 wt. % of alklai(ne earth) metal oxides.
