Abstract

The vessel is of the type having a hull with central opening for drilling purposes, through which the anchor cables extend downwards from winches arranged on a turntable with vertical axis arranged on deck. The vessel has twin-hulls extending down to periscope depth, which are connected by a lower bottom below water level, thus forming a chamber. The bottom is provided with an opening co-axial relative to the deck opening and camping a rotatable guide ring for the anchoring means, the ring being independent from the platform. The platform may be provided with drive means and may be drivable synchronously with the guide ring.
