Abstract

The weir or dam is provided with a valve with low-lying axis. The valve is moved by two-sided hydraulic cylinders (7) with extended piston rods (8). The piston rods on the one hand are rotatably fitted on a surrounding structure at rotary points (0) and on the other hand are mounted rotatably on the valve at rotary points (10). The rotary points (10) are located at a point eccentric in respect of the vertical centre line of the weir or dam valve axis and at some distance from that axis. The cylinders are adjusted by a pump (12) via a four-way valve (14) with closed centre position (II). Both cylinders are connected in parallel with conduits (18,19) positioned along the bottom of the weir or dam.
