Abstract

The tractor unit (1) has a chassis (2) on which is mounted a cabin for the driver (3). The front steerable wheel (7) is mounted under the bonnet (4) and is driven by a hydraulic motor. The rear wheels (6) are also driven by a hydraulic motor and support the towing assembly (8). The central wheels (10,11) are mounted on assemblies (17,19) which can extend the wheels away from the centre line of the vehicle, thus making it difficult for the vehicle to turn over or lose traction.
