Description

CARRIER ATTACHED HYDRAULIC PUMP

The present invention relates to a hydraulic pump for driving hydraulic hand tools, wherein the hand tools can be connected to the pump by means of a flexible hydraulic line, the pump is mounted on a support plate and the pump by means of an operating lever is manually operable.

Such a hydraulic pump is known from the brochure "Lukas, Rescue Tools", FAG, Germany.

With this prior art device, it is often difficult for a user to pump at a suitable angle.

The object of the present invention is to avoid this problem.

This object is achieved in that the operating lever can be connected to the pump at at least two mutually different angles.

This measure offers the possibility for the user of the pump to connect the lever at that angle to the pump, under which he pumps the easiest; this will depend in part on the angle at which the pump and the carrier are placed on the available surface.

According to yet another embodiment, the carrier is plate-shaped.

According to a preferred embodiment, the carrier is adapted for fixing the hand tool. This offers the advantage of an easily manageable unit which can be stored as a unit in warehouses or in rescue vehicles and which can preferably be carried by two persons to the place where the device is to be used. There, a complete unit is then available, with which the necessary work can be carried out. Further auxiliary material is then no longer necessary. To this end, it is pointed out that two persons are required for effective use of the device according to the invention; one person for operating the pump, and a second person for handling the tool, for example a spreading or cutting tool.

According to yet another preferred embodiment, the pump is a three-stage pump, with three cylinders arranged concentrically, and the pistons mounted on the same piston rod.

The invention will be elucidated hereinbelow with reference to the annexed drawings, in which: figure 1 shows a perspective view of an assembly of a pump according to the device, together with a hand tool connected thereto; Figure 2 shows a partly broken away perspective detail view of the pump shown in figure 1; and figure 3 shows a hydraulic diagram of the pump according to the device.

Figure 1 shows an assembly 1, which is formed by a base plate 2, on which a pump 3 is mounted. The pump 3 is formed by a pump housing 4, to which an oil reservoir 5 is attached. The pump housing 4 is connected to the plate 2 by means of a screw connection, while for mounting the oil reservoir 5 use is made of a bracket 6 fixedly connected to the oil reservoir. A lever mechanism 7 is further attached to the pump housing, at the top of which a lever holder 8 is arranged, into which a lever 9 is inserted.

The carrier plate 2 is essentially formed by a profiled plate, on the underside of which a carrier frame 10 is arranged. For handling the plate it is provided with two handles 11. On the carrying plate 2 two resilient brackets 12 are furthermore mounted, on which a hydraulic hand tool indicated in its entirety by 13 is clamped. The hydraulic hand tool is not further discussed here, because it is already well known per se. The hydraulic hand tool 13 is further provided with a handle 14 which also fulfills a function in fixing the hand tool 13 on the base plate 2.

In the present exemplary embodiment, the hydraulic hand tool 13 is connected to the oil reservoir 5 by means of a pair of hydraulic lines 16, 17. One of the lines 16 functions as a pressure line, and the other hydraulic line 17 as a return line. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the lines 16, 17 are always both connected to both the hand tool 13 and the pump housing 4. However, it is equally possible to use releasable couplings, and to connect the hydraulic lines to the hydraulic means by means of couplings 15. hand tools 13, or with the pump housing 4.

In the shown embodiment, the hydraulic lines 16, 17 are enclosed by the handle 14; this is particularly important when the hydraulic lines are of considerable length and they would hang loose without any retaining means. However, it is not necessarily necessary; if the pipes are sufficiently short, this will not be necessary.

It will be clear that the measures shown greatly simplify the use of the device; the device can easily be carried by two persons from a rescue vehicle to the place of use, the dimensioning of which is such that the device can easily be transported by two persons, each of them engaging one of the handles 11. The hydraulic hand tool 13 can then be picked up by loosening the resilient brackets 12. Then one of the two persons can release the lever 9 from the fixing bracket 18 provided for this purpose, and the person concerned can start pumping. While pumping, the 1002197 4 second person can carry out his work with the hydraulic hand tool 13.

In the embodiment shown here, there is always a spreading / cutting device as a hydraulic hand tool; it will be clear that other types of hydraulic hand tools can also be used, such as lifting devices and the like.

Figure 2 shows the construction of the pump housing and the pump cylinder in more detail. A stepped cylindrical cavity 19 is recessed in the pump housing 4, in which a again stepped piston 20 is arranged. Naturally, the piston 20 fits snugly into the cylindrical cavity 19, and the piston is provided with sealing rings and the like to obtain a good seal relative to the cylinder wall. Such devices are state of the art, so that it is not necessary to discuss them further. The piston is connected by means of two piston rods 21 to the lever mechanism 7, 20 so that movements of the lever 9 are transferred to the lever holder 8, which is fixedly connected to the lever mechanism 7, and these are transferred by means of the piston rod 21 to the piston. Here, further use is made of a crank pin 22, and a piston pin 23. The hollow space of the oil reservoir 5 is connected by means of a channel 23 to each of the separate spaces behind the respective pistons. Non-return valves are arranged in the three separate channels 25, 26 and 27 respectively arranged for this purpose.

On the other side, a channel 28 is arranged in the pump housing 4, which is connected to the spaces at the stepped piston 23 by means of respective channels 29, 30, 31. Thus, a high pressure is generated by the action of the piston 23 in the channel 28, the three-stage action of the pump being particularly important. Channel 28 extends the entire length of pump cylinder 5, and is connected to the pressure line of the pair 1002197 5 flexible lines 16.17. The return line is connected to the space inside the oil reservoir 5.

For the rest, reference is made to Figure 3, in which the hydraulic scheme of the pump is shown.

It will be clear that it is possible to deviate from the embodiments shown in various ways without deviating from the invention.

Claims (4)

1. Hydraulic pump for driving hydraulic hand tools, the hand tools being connectable to the pump by a flexible hydraulic line, the pump being mounted on a support plate and the pump being manually operable by means of an operating lever characterized in that the operating lever can be connected to the pump at least at two different angles.
2. Hydraulic pump according to claim 1, characterized in that the carrier is plate-shaped.
