DISCLOSED IS A COASTAL TETRAPOD TO DISSIPATE WAVE ENERGY, AND MORE PARTICULARLY, A TETRAPOD AND A CONSTRUCTION METHOD THEREOF WITH DUE REGARD TO USER SAFETY DURING AND AFTER CONSTRUCTION. THE TETRAPOD INCLUDES CYLINDRICAL BODIES (110) EXTENDING FROM A CENTRAL NODE. EACH OF THE BODIES (110) INCLUDES A FLAT SURFACE (112) DEFINED AT A PART OF AN OUTER CIRCUMFERENTIAL SURFACE THEREOF. THE FLAT SURFACE IS PROVIDED WITH ANTI-SLIP GROOVES TO PREVENT A PERSON STANDING ON THE TETRAPOD FROM SLIPPING AND FALLING.
