Abstract
La invencion se refiere a una prueba de un solo extremo de un bucle (2,3). Un dispositivo de prueba (TD1) esta conectado a un dispositivo remoto (3) a traves de una linea (2). El dispositivo remoto es encendido y transmite intermitentemente senales de establecimiento de comunicaciones (handshake) (HS1) que pueden perturbar la prueba de bucle. Una unidad de recepcion y calculo (RE1) detecta las senales de establecimiento de comunicaciones (HS1) y ordena a una unidad emisora (SD1) que envie una senal de detencion (NAK-EF) al dispositivo remoto. Este ultimo es detenido durante un periodo de silencio predeterminado, durante el cual se efectua la prueba o una parte de ella. Si se desea, la detencion de las senales de establecimiento de comunicaciones se repite. El dispositivo de prueba envia una senal de prueba de bucle de banda ancha (S1) y recibe una senal reflejada (S2) durante el periodo de silencio. Una funcion de transferencia de eco dependiente de la frecuencia es generada a partir de la senales (S1, S2) y se utiliza para generar propiedades deseadas de la linea (2) tales como su longitud (L).
