Abstract

La presencia de la proteína A en una cantidad anormalmente grande en una muestra, tal como sangre, de un individuo, es diagnostico de cáncer primario o de metástasis en el mismo. La presencia de a proteína A se detecta más fácilmente por medio de la reaccion inmunologica de ésta con anticuerpos específicos. Un procedimiento preferido para detectar la presencia de la proteína A en las muestras es por medio de un ensayo de tipo "emparedado" usando dos anticuerpos con diferentes especificaciones epitopicas para la proteína A.
