Un complejo de pirrometeno-boro de acuerdo con un aspecto de la presente invención es un compuesto representado por la fórmula general (1). El complejo de pirrometeno-boro es usado en una composición de conversión de color. La composición de conversión de color y una película de conversión de color que contiene la misma son usadas en una unidad de fuente de luz, y un aparato de iluminación. x / RE / (1) RE R* R* / ./* /N\ /N B R3 / \ R8 RJ RE 10 15 En la fórmula general (1) X es C-R7 o N. R1 a R9 son, cada uno, un grupo seleccionado de grupos prescritos, donde R2 y R5 son seleccionados de entre grupos distintos que un grupo afilo sustituido o no sustituido y un grupo heteroarilo sustituido o no sustituido. R2 y Rs son grupos que no contienen un grupo heteroarilo con por lo menos dos anillos condensados. Por lo menos uno de R1 a R6 es un grupo que contiene un átomo de flúor.
