Abstract

Se describen los métodos para las mediciones de la composición continua en tiempo real y otras propiedades de las fases individuales del petróleo, agua y mezclas de gas durante el proceso de producción de petróleo, sin requerir separadores de prueba, líneas de prueba, con válvulas asociadas e instrumentación. Las modalidades de la presente invención dirigen la transmisión de sonido ultrasónico (12, 24) a través de un fluido multifase de flujo (20) en tres rangos de frecuencia: frecuencias bajas, frecuencias de resonancia de la burbuja de gas, y frecuencias altas, en donde ciertas mediciones de propagación de sonido, incluyen velocidad de sonido, atenuación de sonido y dispersión de sonido, que se hacen en una o más de las tres regiones de frecuencia separada, desde las cuales la composición de multifase y otras propiedades se extraen sin tener que separar el fluido multifase o el gas desde la corriente que fluye.
