Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para la preparación de combustibles emulsionados en agua a partir de residuales de petróleo en forma continua o en lotes, mediante la adición de un agente emulsionante para dispersar el residual de petróleo en agua y facilitar su transporte; este proceso no requiere del uso de sustancias químicas como estabilizadores ni diluentes para su preparación, el residuo de vacío utilizado no se limita a características específicas y el agua utilizada puede ser destilada, de red o salada (de mar); y requiere baja concentración de un surfactante no-iónico; con el cual se obtienen emulsiones con proporciones de 70 a 90% en peso de residuos de la refinación; de 10 a 30% en peso de agua y de 0.1 a 1% en peso de surfactante. El combustible emulsionado en agua, es producido a partir de residuos de la refinación del petróleo, tales como residuos de la destilación al vacío y atmosférica, combustóleos y similares; y está constituido del 70 a 90% en peso de residuos de la refinación; 10 a 30% en peso de agua y de 0.1 a 1% en peso de surfactante no-iónico. Este combustible es eficiente en cuanto a su combustión debido a que las gotas del combustible presentan el tamaño más adecuado para que se quemen completamente en la flama, lo que impacta favorablemente en la disminución de las emisiones de partículas parcialmente quemadas. El combustible además, puede permanecer estable por periodos de tiempo suficiente para su almacenamiento temporal y posterior inyección a los equipos de combustión.
