Abstract

The tongued and grooved, illuminated and/or fastened modules and the accessories thereof for assembling modular furniture are a set of polyhedrons of different shapes in which external surface have at least a rail, this latter element simultaneously being part of a tongued and grooved mechanism and the counter part of said mechanism being located on other module, in such a manner that the joint of at least two modules is performed using a rail and channel mechanism, thus reaching a stop for preventing the rails from completely sliding from front to back, this stop also representing a front aesthetic element in the furniture; the invention also allows modules to be assembled in a "L" shape for assembling shelves or lateral supports for providing rigidity to the desired furniture, or for acting as a base for supporting objects over the furniture while the rigidity is provided by other joint modules that are particularly used in the corners of the modules; this configuration of the assme blable furniture allows the user to adapt the furniture to spaces of predetermined shapes, sizes and diverse characteristics; the invention also allows doors to be embedded in all spaces for closing some of the modules.
