Abstract
Proceso para el tratamiento del jugo de caña de azúcar que incluye someter el jugo, en una primera etapa de tratamiento, a una purificación para remover partículas que sean mayores a cerca de 0.1 micras. Este jugo de caña ya clarificado, pasa entonces por una etapa primaria de intercambio de iones en la cual es secuencialmente llevado a entrar en contacto con al menos una resma de intercambio de iones de catión ácido fuerte en forma de hidrógeno y, de ahí en adelante, con al menos una resma de intercambio de iones de anión base débil en forma de hidrógeno, para llevar a cabo una desmineralización primaria del jugo de caña. Posteriormente, el jugo es pasado a través de una etapa secundaria de intercambio de iones en la cual es secuencialmente llevado a entrar en contacto con al menos una resma de intercambio de iones de anión base fuerte en forma de hidróxido y, más adelante, con al menos una resma de intercambio de iones de catión ácido, para llevar a cabo una desmineralización secundaria del jugo de caña. Los productos de azúcar son recuperados a partir de la solución de azúcar purificada resultante.
