Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of producing an improved yield of lubricating oil of the viscosity class of 5.6 to 5.9 centistokes at 100 degrees C, obtained from the isomerized wax, the method consisting of (1) isomerizing the wax through an isomerization catalyst under typical isomerization temperature, pressure, and spatial velocity conditions, but at a low treatment gas rate within the range of 14.15 to 141.50 normal cubic meters per barrel of H2 and (2) recover oil in the viscosity grade of 5.6 to 5.9 centistokes at 100 degrees C, of the isomerized product produced in this way.
