Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una composición termoplástica de una mezcla reforzada con fibra de vidrio de poli(cloruro de vinilo) y un copolímero mezclado con el mismo, la mejora consiste esencialmente en a) desde aproximadamente 60 a 85 partes en peso de resina de poli (cloruro de vinilo) por 100 partes de dicha mezcla en la cual la porción de cloruro de vinilo de cada unidad de repetición contiene desde aproximadamente el 57 al 67 por ciento en peso de cloro b) desde 15 hasta 40 partes en peso de un copolímero del 20 al 30 por ciento en peso de acrilonitrilo con el 80 al 70 por ciento en peso de una mezcla, la cual comprende una porción mayor de alfa-metil estireno y una porción menor de estireno, formando dicho copolímero una fase sencilla con dicho poli(cloruro de vinilo c) desde 5 hasta 20 partes en peso, combinados, de un estabiliante, lubricante, auxiliar de procesamiento y modificador de impacto; y d) desde aproximadamente 10 al 30 por ciento en peso de fibras de vidrio, que tienen un diámetro menor de aproximadamente 20 micras, caracterizadas porque dichas fibras de vidrio son revestidas con un dimensionador consistente esencialmente en (i) un agente acoplador de aminosilano que tiene una fracción de amina reactiva, la cual, al reaccionar con dicho poli (cloruro de vinilo), da como resultado un compuesto que tiene un pico en un espectro de resonancia magnética de protones, de 5.65 ppm h (ii) un formador de película de polímero que tiene una basicidad mayor que la del poli (acetato de vinilo), y suficiente para dejar suficiente resina acoplada con dichas fibras después de la termoformación, para producir una relación de cloro total al carbono C1(sP)/C(s) de por lo menos 0.91 medida como la relación de áreas bajo los picos, después de la extracción de dicha composición después de la termoformación, con tetrahidrofurán.
