Abstract
본 발명은 화상정보를 전송 또는 저장하기 위해 디지탈부호화하는 시스템에서 양자화스텝(Quantization Step)을 결정하는 방식에 관한 것으로, 특히 한 화면에 대한 인트라모드블록수 및 인터모드블럭수를 산출하여 이 인터모드블록수 및 인트라모드블록수에 의해 다수개의 양자화스텝결정곡선 중에서 하나의 곡선을 선택하고, 버퍼에 데이타가 저장된 정도에 따라 상기 선택된 양자화스텝결정곡선으로부터 양자화스텝을 결정함으로써, 화면변화 및 버퍼내의 상태에 효과적으로 대응하여 양질의 화질을 얻는 효과를 갖는다.

Claims (6)
- 디지탈영상데이타의 부호화방식에서, 한 화면내의 인트라/인터모드블록의 분포상태와 부호화된 데이타가 저장되는 버퍼의 상태에 따라 상기 디지탈영상데이타를 양자화하는 장치에 있어서,상기 디지탈영상데이타를 공급받아 인터모드로 부호화할 것인지 또는 인트라모드로 부호화할 것인지를 블록단위로 결정하고, 상기 인터모드 및 인트라모드에 대한 블록수를 산출하여 출력하는 모드결정수단; 및 상기 모드결정수단으로부터 인터모드블록수 및 인트라모드블록수를 인가받고 상기 버퍼로부터 버퍼상태신호를 인가받아 양자화스텝을 결정하여 양자화기로 출력하는 양자화제어수단을 포함하는 적응적 양자화장치
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 양자화제어수단을 다수개의 양자화스텝결정곡선을 저장하고, 상기 인트라모드블록수가 상기 인터모드블록수보다 많을수록 같은 버퍼점유율에 대해 높은 양자화스텝을 가지는 양자화스텝 결정곡선을 선택하여 이 양자화결정곡선으로부터 양자화스텝을 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 적응적 양자화 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 양자화스텝결정곡선은 버퍼에 유입되는 데이타양에 대한 양자화스텝을 나타내는 곡선인 것을 특징으로 하는 적응적 양자화장치.
- 디지탈영상데이타의 부호화방식에서, 한 화면내의 인트라/인터모드블록의 분호상태와 부호화된 데이타가 저장되는 버퍼의 상태에 따라 상기 디지탈영상데이타를 양자화하는 방법에 있어서, 다수의 양자화스텝결정곡선을 사전설정하는 단계; 한 화면에 대한 인터모드블록수 및 인트라모드블록수를 산출하는 단계; 상기 인터모드블록수 및 인트라모드블록수에 의해 다수개의 양자화스텝결정곡선 중에서 하나의 곡선을 선택하는 단계; 및 상기 버퍼에 데이타가 저장된 정도에 따라 상기 선택된 양자화스텝결정곡선으로부터 양자화스텝을 결정하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 적응적 양자화방법.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 양자화스텝결정곡선은 버퍼에 유입되는 데이타양에 대한 양자화스텝을 나타내는 곡선인 것을 특징으로 하는 적응적 양자화방법.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 선택단계는 상기 인트라모드블록수가 상기 인터모드블록수보다 많을수록, 같은 버퍼점유율에 대해 높은 양자화스텝을 가지는 양자화스텝결정곡선을 선택하여 이 양자화스텝결정곡선으로부터 양자화스텝을 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 적응적 양자화방법.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
