Description

FOLDING DOOR WITH ENHANCED HEAT INSULATION}Folding door with enhanced heat insulation

The present invention relates to a folding door with improved insulation performance, and more specifically, to a folding door with improved insulation performance in which an insulation finishing material is installed in close contact with both sides of a metal frame to enhance the decorative aesthetics while simultaneously improving the insulation performance to prevent condensation from forming on the inner and outer frames.

In general, a folding door is a door that can be folded into a window frame by combining multiple individual doors made of glass or panels into a door frame. It is installed in places where there is no space outside the wall entrance to fully open the door, or to secure a relatively wide living space by allowing the entrance to be opened almost completely while existing doors only open 50%.

These folding doors are mainly used as entrances or complex doors in apartments, houses, and commercial buildings.

However, since the above folding door frame is installed in a way that one side is exposed to the outside and the other side is exposed to the inside, there was a problem that cold air from the outside was transmitted directly through the window frame, and condensation occurred on the frame surface of the door or window frame on the inside due to the temperature difference between the inside and outside.

This condensation not only promotes corrosion of structural materials by seeping into the interior of building walls or window frames, reducing their durability, but also causes the growth of mold and bacteria, which can lead to respiratory or skin diseases.

In this regard, domestic patent registration No. 10-1726717 (registration date April 7, 2017) discloses a frame structure of a folding door in which insulation is injection-molded into slits formed facing each other in the upper door frame and the upper inner frame and the lower door frame and the lower inner frame, thereby reducing heat transfer between the indoor and outdoor sides, thereby improving insulation and preventing condensation caused by temperature differences.

However, the folding door frame of the above-mentioned patent could not prevent condensation on the door frame because the insulation was installed only within the door frame.

As another example, Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2018-0080945 (publication date July 13, 2018) discloses a door structure of a folding door in which PVC material side frames are slidably inserted and attached to both sides of a basic frame. However, over time, the PVC material deforms, increasing the gap between the basic frame and the side frames, generating noise. In addition, over time, the PVC side frames become discolored, damaging the appearance.
