Abstract

건물의 주거공간에 전력을 공급하기 위하여 배선박스가 널리 사용된다. 배선박스는 건물벽체에 매립 설치되는 것이 보통이지만 가건물 등에는 외부로 노출되도록 설치되기도 한다. 배선박스 내에서 전선이 분기되기도 하고 콘센트가 설치되기도 한다. 배선박스에는 전선관이 필수적으로 연결된다. 전선은 전선관을 따라 배선박스까지 연장된다. 전선관은 전선을 설치하기 위한 유도관의 기능을 수행하기도 하며 전선을 보호하기도 한다. 종래의 전선관은 일반적으로 합성수지로 되어 있었다. 그러나 이는 화재에 취약하다는 단점이 있다. 그래서 근래에는 화재에 강한 금속 소재의 전선관을 사용하도록 권고 내지 강제되고 있다.
