Description
The present invention relates to an information providing apparatus for a visually impaired person, and relates to an information providing apparatus for a visually impaired person who can provide various information necessary for a visually impaired person according to an operation mode.
Places such as the library for the visually impaired want to increase the convenience of the visually impaired by providing a book of Braille. However, since it takes a lot of money to make all the books as a braille book, we publish and distribute Braille books only for some books. In addition, although it is possible to customize and receive Braille books for specific books, it is difficult to access many books for visually impaired because a large cost is required. Further, in order for the visually impaired person to recognize information on the Internet, a separate program is installed, or a device for converting characters into Braille characters or a device for converting characters to speech is required. However, it is difficult to install the program on all computers used by the visually impaired, and the conversion apparatuses are inconvenient to carry and install.
In addition, visually impaired persons need to recognize characters included in an object located at a remote place, such as a signboard, not only near characters included in a book or the like, but also through voice or the like. However, characters included in a remote object such as a signboard are difficult to display braille directly on the object due to factors such as the installation position, and there is a difficulty that a large amount of cost and labor are required even if it is possible.
On the other hand, visually impaired persons have difficulty in recognizing obstacles existing on the route, and therefore it is considerably inconvenient for the visually impaired to walk on the road alone, and there are many accident risks due to collision with obstacles. Currently, a guide assistant, who is a non-disabled person, accompanies walking to the destination or uses a trained guide helper to assist in the walking of the visually impaired to prevent accidents. However, in the case of the guidance assistant, it is difficult to realize that each time the visually impaired person travels due to the problem of securing personnel, the visually impaired person can avoid obstacles while walking on behalf of the eyes of the visually impaired.
