A digital image display device and a time setup method therefor are provided to set accurate local time information by using PSIP(Program and System Information Protocol) data extracted from a broadcasting signal and local information received by a GPS(Global Positioning System). A tuner unit(110) receives a broadcasting signal. A demultiplexing unit(120) extracts PSIP data from the received broadcasting signal. A GPS receiving unit(130) receives local information from a satellite. A control unit(140) produces time information on the basis of the extracted PSIP data and the received local information, and sets the produced time information.
