Abstract

PURPOSE: A method of cultivating a mulberry tree by application of fertilizer containing selenium material as a foliar spray or soil drench component is provided. It permits a leaf and mulberry to contain a large quantity of selenium material. With the leaf and mulberry, powdered food such as noodles, dumpling, rice cake, a clear soup with wheat flakes in it(sujaebi), cake or the like can be prepared. CONSTITUTION: A mulberry tree is cultivated by drenching the root system thereof with selenium material or applying the selenium material to leaves. The selenium material contains inorganic selenium such as Na2SeO3, Na2SeO4 or the like, selenium-yeast complex and chelated organic selenium. For an example, 1 ppm ionized-selenium is drenched to a mulberry tree 3 times per day at 5 day intervals from the sprouting period thereof. It is also applied thereto in a concentration of 5ppm 5 times. The leaf and mulberry of the mulberry tree contain 0.465mg/kg and 0.075mg/kg of ionized selenium respectively.
