CONSTITUTION: A forward mirror system for a vehicle comprises a wide angle imaging medium(2), a video camera(3), an imaging recovering module(4) and a LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)(5). A peripheral image of the vehicle is obtained by the wide mirror medium(2) mounted at an outside of the vehicle. The wide angle imaging medium(2) is composed of a fisheye lens or a convex or a combination of a various mirror. The peripheral image is taken by the video camera(3) and is recovered by the imaging recovering module(4). The recovered image is outputted to the LCD(5) installed at an indoor of the vehicle.

Description

광각영상매체를 이용한 자동차용 전방향미러시스템{Omni-directional automobile mirror system using wide-angle optical method}Omni-directional automobile mirror system using wide-angle optical method}

The present invention relates to an omnidirectional mirror system for a vehicle using a wide-angle image medium, and more particularly, to provide an omnidirectional mirror system using a wide-angle image medium such as a fisheye lens or a convex mirror.

As the production and use of automobiles has increased exponentially, automobile accidents have been increasing accordingly.

Its main causes include accidents caused by driver's negligence such as drunk driving, violent driving, drowsy driving, and carelessness, and environmental accidents such as poor visibility due to nighttime, rainy weather, fog, etc. The accident is caused by a blind area of the side / rear mirror, that is, a defect in the structure of the vehicle.

All vehicles are equipped with at least two side mirrors 11 and one rear view mirror 12 as shown in FIG. 1, and since each reflects only a part of the left and right rear sides of the vehicle 10, a considerable portion is provided on the left and right sides. A blind spot of is formed. In addition, each mirror has a problem that the driver can not determine the situation around the car at a time because the mounting position is apart. Especially in rainy weather, it is more difficult to identify the surrounding situation due to rain from the side mirrors or the rear window.

In order to eliminate this blind spot, there are methods for attaching various convex mirrors to the existing side / rear mirrors (11) and (12), but when using this, the user needs to see more mirrors in a short time, so it is difficult to determine the surrounding situation at once. As a solution to the problems occurring during rainy weather is insufficient, it is urgently required to develop a new mirror configuration to solve this problem.

Accordingly, the present inventors have developed and researched to solve all the problems of the mirrors in the existing automobiles as described above. By using a wide-angle image medium such as a fisheye lens or a convex mirror, the environment is obtained and image processing is performed. The present invention has been completed with the technical problem of the present invention to enable safer operation by eliminating blind spots around the vehicle.
